[Cannes, France | May 2025] – Ginita Sunaina, a proud Dutch citizen with Indian roots, is making a bold mark at this year’s Cannes Film Festival – not only by walking the red carpet but by spearheading a landmark initiative that places Indian cinema in the global spotlight.
An award-winning director, actor, writer, and producer, Ginita is no stranger to excellence. Every project she has helmed to date has won IMDb-qualified international film awards, making her one of the most dynamic and decorated South Asian voices in Europe. And now, she’s using that voice to champion her roots on one of the world’s most prestigious stages.
After receiving her official Cannes accreditation, Ginita took the reins as a proud lifetime member of IMMPA (Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association) and launched a bold new cinematic series: “WHAT A F – WHAT A FILM”. The “F” stands for “Film” — fearless, free, and full of fire.

Not Just Representation — Rooted in Purpose
At a time when many Indian-origin presenters seek to westernize their image to “fit in”, Ginita proudly chooses authenticity over assimilation. Born and raised in the Netherlands, she embraces her multicultural identity to connect cultures — not by diluting them, but by starting where it matters: the roots of Indian cinema.
Her series begins with full coverage of IMMPA-approved Indian screeners at Cannes, offering a platform for Indian stories and voices — directly from the source and onto the world stage.
A Cannes Special: Spotlight on Indian Artists & Diaspora
The Cannes edition of WHAT A F – WHAT A FILM is a special episode initiative by IMMPA x Global Tara Entertainment, created to give Indian filmmakers, talent, and diaspora representation on international media — especially in Europe, where that presence remains limited despite rich contributions.
The series premiere opens with the powerful film Bandaa Singh Chaudhary, produced by Arbaaz Khan Productions and starring Arshad Warsi, Meher Vij, and Arbaaz Khan. With behind-the-scenes access and emotional interviews, Ginita sets the tone for a series that is equally celebratory and cinematic.

Two-Part Cinematic Experience
The series is structured in two immersive segments:
1. City Tours, Red Carpet & Behind-the-Scenes Screenings
(Cannes edition) A first-hand look at Cannes through Ginita’s lens, showcasing the Indian presence across key festival events.
2. One-on-One In-Depth Interviews
Unfiltered and emotionally rich conversations with actors, directors, and producers about craft, culture, and what it means to represent Indian cinema globally.
With this, Ginita becomes the first Indian-origin filmmaker based in Europe to front a global platform backing the Indian diaspora – starting from its cinematic roots.
A Global Release & Invitation to Collaborate
WHAT A F – WHAT A FILM will premiere on:
• India: Bollywood Bubble (YouTube)
• Europe: Selected television networks and streaming platforms
Indian broadcasters and global platforms interested in co-distribution, broadcast rights, or collaborations are invited to connect with Global Tara Entertainment.
More Than a Series — A Cultural Movement
This isn’t just media coverage — it’s cultural advocacy. Through WHAT A F, Ginita Sunaina leads with her art, her heritage, and her heart. She is a cinematic force — elevating Indian cinema globally not just as a host, but as a creator, storyteller, and ambassador of culture.
What a woman. What a voice. What a film.
