Government Imposes Telegram Ban Ahead of NEET UG Re-Test
NTA welcomed the decision of the Centre to put up a restriction on Telegram in India, as a part of the measures to prevent examination-related fraud.
New Delhi (India) June 16: The National Testing Agency (NTA) expressed satisfaction over the government’s decision to impose temporary restrictions on Telegram in India until the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination is conducted on June 21. This step was taken as per section 69A of the Information Technology Act to prevent organized groups to be involved in cheating, thereby restricting use of the platform and circulation of fake claims of paper leaks.
