17th June 2023, Mumbai: Actress Ameesha Patel made an appearance before the Ranchi Civil Court on Saturday, June 17, in relation to a cheque bounce case dating back to 2018. The timing coincided with the promotion of her highly anticipated film, Gadar 2. Following her surrender, Ameesha was granted conditional bail by the court, according to reports.

The court has ordered Ameesha Patel to physically present herself on June 21, as stated by the news agency. Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, the actress is actively involved in preparing for her role in Gadar 2, which also stars renowned actor Sunny Deol. The film serves as Ameesha’s return to the silver screen, playing the character of Sakina, the love interest of Sunny Deol’s character, Tara Singh. Audiences can expect to witness their chemistry unfold as the film picks up from where its predecessor, Gadar, left off. Gadar 2 is slated to hit theaters on August 11, creating significant buzz among fans.

The cheque bounce case originated from Ameesha Patel’s meeting with billionaire Ajay Kumar Singh in Ranchi back in 2018. During her visit, she attended a program at Harmu Ground and engaged in discussions with Singh regarding film financing. Impressed by the venture, Singh invested in the movie and became the owner of Lovely World Entertainment. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the movie failed to release, leading Singh to seek a refund of the invested amount. Ameesha attempted to reimburse Singh with a cheque of 2.50 crore, but the cheque was returned unpaid.

Interestingly, this is not the first instance of Ameesha Patel facing legal consequences regarding a cheque bounce. In November 2021, she made headlines when a cheque worth 32.25 lakh, issued to UTF Telefilms, also bounced.

Nevertheless, Ameesha Patel remains undeterred by the situation. On June 9, she celebrated her 47th birthday, sharing a joyous video of the celebration in Mumbai. Expressing gratitude for the belated birthday greetings, Ameesha thanked everyone who made her day memorable.

Adding to the excitement surrounding Ameesha Patel and Gadar 2, it was announced on Saturday that Gadar: Ek Prem Katha would make its digital debut in 4K resolution with Dolby Atmos. The iconic film, directed by Anil Sharma and featuring Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, and the late actor Amrish Puri, can now be experienced in enhanced visual and audio quality. Ameesha took to Instagram to share the film’s poster, announcing its availability for rent exclusively on ZEE5, stating, “Gadar 1… the newly remastered version now available to rent only on @zee5.”

As Ameesha Patel juggles her legal obligations and film promotions, fans eagerly await the release of Gadar 2, anticipating her return to the big screen alongside Sunny Deol in this much-awaited sequel.
