5th October 2023, Mumbai: After eight days of haunting theaters, “Chandramukhi 2,” the horror-comedy starring Kangana Ranaut and Raghava Lawrence, has amassed a significant haul at the box office. The film has spooked up a total of ₹34.55 crore in the domestic market, marking a notable success for Kangana Ranaut since “Manikarnika.” However, it’s worth noting that the Hindi market, Kangana’s primary bastion, contributed less than ₹1 crore to this total.

Chandramukhi 2 Box Office Collection

In the Hindi market, where Kangana Ranaut usually holds sway, “Chandramukhi 2” has struggled to make a significant impact. Even after a week in theaters, the film’s Hindi collections amounted to a modest ₹78 lakh. In contrast, the Tamil market contributed a substantial ₹26.16 crore, while the Telugu market chipped in with ₹7.7 crore. “Chandramukhi 2” embarked on its box office journey with an opening collection of ₹8.25 crore. Over the course of the extended four-day weekend, it managed to amass ₹24.45 crore. Now, as it enters its second weekend, all eyes are on whether the film can maintain its momentum and continue to enthrall audiences.

Chandramukhi 2 VS Fukrey 3 Vs Vaccine War

The film faced competition at the box office from “Fukrey 3” and “The Vaccine War.” While Vivek Agnihotri’s “The Vaccine War” failed to make a significant impact, “Fukrey 3” managed to rake in ₹66.15 crore in its first eight days at the box office.

Chandramukhi 2 Marks Kangana’s another Hit

Kangana Ranaut, despite her prolific career, hasn’t had a box office hit in quite some time. Her recent releases, including “Dhaakad,” “Thalaivii,” “Panga,” and “Judgementall Hai Kya,” all fell short of box office expectations. Her last substantial hit was “Manikarnika” in 2019, which grossed ₹92.19 crore. Her stellar performance in “Manikarnika” and “Panga” earned her the National Award for Best Actress in 2021.

Looking ahead, Kangana Ranaut has a busy slate. She’s set to appear in her directorial venture, “Emergency,” where she portrays Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film is scheduled for release on November 24. Additionally, “Tejas” is slated for release on October 27, ensuring that Kangana will remain a prominent figure on the big screen in the months to come.
