Former Indian Fast Bowler Siddharth Kaul Registers For Upcoming Big Bash League
The fast bowler is the only one cricketer from India who has registered for BBL. Big Bash League is played in Australia.

Delhi (India) June 17: Former India pacer Siddharth Kaul has registered himself for the men’s Big Bash League (BBL) draft while 15 compatriots did the same for the women's tournament, Cricket Australia said on Tuesday. He has played three ODIs and as many T20Is for India before retiring from international cricket last November, is the lone Indian male player to have registered himself for the BBL draft to be held here on Thursday.
Legendary England fast bowler James Anderson is among more than 600 players from around the world to have registered themselves for the league. If picked, Anderson would become the oldest player in the league at 43.
Kanika Ahuja, who plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Women’s Premier League and also made her T20I debut for India earlier this year, is among the 15 women’s players from India.
The other Indian women’s players include Jemimah Rodrigues, Shikha Pandey, Radha Yadav and Yastika Bhatia, who have played in the WBBL in the past.
The list also includes S Meghana, Arundhati Reddy, Pratika Rawal, U-19 T20 World Cup winning captain Niki Prasad, Uma Chetry, Kashvee Gautam, Priya Mishra and a few others.
Former India seamer Siddarth Kaul announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in India on November 28. The 35-year-old was highly renowned for the bounce he generated off the back of a length and the way he could get the ball to nip back in after pitching.
Kaul was a more than handy asset in first-class cricket, as his stats show with 297 wickets in 88 matches. From 2007 to 2024, he was the mainstay of the Punjab bowling attack, but he called it quits midway through the domestic season.
Kaul was a part of the Indian team for the U-19 World Cup in 2008 and was also rewarded with his first senior cap in a T20I against Ireland in Dublin in 2018, which the visitors won by 143 runs. Later that year, in July, the Punjab bowler was also handed his first ODI cap against England in Nottingham.
Although Kaul played just three ODIs and as many T20Is for India, his impact at the domestic level cannot be discounted, as well as his performances in franchise cricket, especially the Indian Premier League (IPL). He represented three sides in the IPL – Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
