I only know of one REALLY BAD thing WWIII, says Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev

New Delhi (India) May 28: The deputy head of Russia's Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has reacted against Donald Trump after the US president said that Vladimir Putin is "playing with fire" by continuing to strike Ukraine.

Dmitry Medvedev responded to Trump by posting, "Regarding Trump's words about Putin 'playing with fire' and 'really bad things' happening to Russia. I only know of one REALLY BAD thing — WWIII. I hope Trump understands this!" on social media platform X.

US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg stated Medvedev's comments as regrettable and reckless. He also said that they are not appropriate for a world power to promote fears of World War 3.

The US president has earlier warned Russia by saying, "What Vladimir Putin doesn't realise is that if it weren't for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD.”

The comments are made as tensions over the war in Ukraine are rising between the US and Russia.

Trump has become more and more irritated with his Russian counterpart over the past several months because the U.S. is attempting to mediate a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine that could end the conflict which had begun three years back in February.

Russia had launched its most recent airstrike against Ukraine days after his phone conversation with Putin which Trump described as "excellent" and hopeful that it will result in a peace agreement.

Trump criticised Putin all weekend by saying that the Russian leader had "gone absolutely CRAZY" and that "I don't know what the hell happened to Putin.”

Trump said, "I've always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY!"

There has been no sign of de-escalation from Moscow. Russian officials said Tuesday that Ukraine was trying to “disrupt” peace efforts and that the recent airstrikes were a response to Ukrainian drone operations against Russian people.
