ICC Champions Trophy: Pakistan vs Bangladesh's Match Abandoned Due To Heavy Rain
Both the teams had poor outing in the tournament as they only managed to earn 1 point each in the whole tournament.

Rawalpindi (Pakistan) February 27: Rain once again disrupted in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, forcing the Pakistan vs. Bangladesh match in Rawalpindi to be called off. Both teams had hoped to end their campaigns with a win, but instead, they each received one point.
Pakistan being the host of the tournament had a disappointing campaign at home, losing their first match to New Zealand by 60 runs in Karachi and then falling to India by six wickets in Dubai, which ended their semifinal hopes.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh also struggled, losing to India, who chased down the target with six wickets in hand, and then to New Zealand by five wickets. These results confirmed India and New Zealand’s spots in the semifinals, making this match in Rawalpindi a dead rubber with only pride at stake.
Meanwhile, yesterday Afghanistan pulled off a historic win over England in Lahore. They posted their highest-ever total in an ICC ODI tournament, with Ibrahim Zadran scoring a record-breaking 177 as Afghanistan reached 325/7.
Ibrahim Zadran not only surpassed India legends Sachin Tendulkar (141 vs. Australia, 1998) and Sourav Ganguly (141* vs. South Africa, 2000) but also went past New Zealand great Nathan Astle (145* vs. USA, 2004) and Duckett (166) to set the record for the highest individual score in Champions Trophy history.
It was also the highest score by an Afghanistan batter as Zadran went past his previous best of 162 against Sri Lanka in 2022, and the fourth-highest ODI score by a batter in Pakistan. In addition, Zadran’s 177 is now the second-highest individual score by an Asian batter in an ICC ODI tournament as he went past Kapil Dev’s iconic knock of 175 in the 1983 World Cup, only to stand behind Ganguly (183 vs Sri Lanka, 1999 World Cup). Overall, it is the joint eighth-highest best knock by a batter on that list.
In reply, England fought back, led by Joe Root’s century, but Afghanistan’s bowlers sealed a thrilling victory. Azmatullah Omarzai starred with the ball, taking 5/58. This result knocked England out of the tournament, while Afghanistan now remains in a tight battle for a semifinal spot alongside Australia and South Africa.
