Mukesh Mishra, a former national level karate player, has been making waves in the field of karate as a coach. Hailing from Bihar, Mukesh has been actively involved in the sport at the age of 14.

Early Life and Education

 Mukesh Mishra was born on 31 December 1990 in Darbhanga, Bihar. He belongs to a Hindu Brahmin family, his father Indrakant Mishra is a retired officer from Bihar Police and his mother Sabita Mishra, an ordinary housewife. Mukesh completed his schooling from his hometown and then went on to pursue a Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) degree from Sikkim Manipal University. He further enhanced his sports skills by obtaining a Bachelor in Physical Education from Sant Gadge Amravati University.

Karate Career 

Mukesh Mishra, started his journey in the field of karate at the age of 14 under the guidance of coach Sawan Kumar. His passion for the martial art led him to participate in his first national championship in 2008, marking the beginning of his successful career as a karate player. Over the next seven years, Mukesh continued to train and compete, representing his state in various tournaments across the country. He earned the prestigious 3rd Dan Black belt in 2016 from shito-ryu, a highly respected karate style. In 2017, Mukesh made a bold decision to shift his focus from competing to training the next generation of karate players. He opened his own martial-arts training center, "Karate School Darbhanga," in his hometown. Since then, he has been dedicated to coaching school and college-going boys and girls, passing on his knowledge and skills to the future generation. Since then, Mukesh has been training top karate players of Bihar. His students have gone on to participate in numerous Karate championships across the country and bring home medals for their state. Currently, he is the Joint Secretary of State Karate Association of Bihar and has also serving as a Senior Coach of Bihar State Karate Team. He holds Black Belt 4th Dan in shito-ryu (karate style) .

Recent Achievement

His recent victory by winning seven medals including two gold and five bronze medals for Bihar as Karate Team Coach in the 68th National School Games Karate Championship (under-17 boys & girls) held in New Delhi from 9 to 15 December 2024.
