Jaipur viral video case: Private moments of a couple leaked online; Massive jams outside the hotel

New Delhi (India) June 21: The privacy of a five-star hotel in the capital city of Jaipur has come under scrutiny. On social media, a video of a couple staying in a room at a famous hotel went viral on Wednesday night. It's shocking to learn that the video was taken with a standard mobile phone camera by a person standing on the street outside the hotel, not a hidden camera.

The couple's faces are not clearly visible in the film, but their motions make it clear what was happening. They are apparently staying at the Holiday Inn in Jaipur which is close to 22 Godown.

The event was discovered when a window in a room provided a clear view of the hotel room at approximately ten o'clock at night. There were no curtains on the window of the room, and a couple was inside having private moments. This was captured by a number of individuals on the street and posted to social media. As soon as the video went viral, people started to gather at the location. Because of the traffic disruption, hotel workers had to step in.

After the incident, there has been a social media debate about who is to blame: the hotel management for failing to provide any safety measures for the transparent window, the couple for failing to draw the curtains, or the people who secretly recorded and posted someone else's private life.

A user posted, “A video of a couple’s private moments recorded from the street at Jaipur’s Holiday Inn hotel went viral, creating a stir. This is a violation of privacy, which may be illegal under Indian law (such as IPC Section 354C). Some believe that the couple should have been careful, but recording and sharing is unethical. The hotel’s responsibility is also in question, such as the arrangement of curtains. This incident highlights the challenges of privacy in the digital age” on social media platform X.

The hotel has not yet issued a formal statement. The name of the couple is still unknown and no formal complaint has been made as of yet. But this incident undoubtedly brings up important issues regarding digital ethics, social media abuse and hotel room privacy.

The person who unlawfully captured the couple's private moment on camera and posted it to social media without permission has not yet been named.
