Maharashtra Budget 2025: Ajit Pawar deliver the Mahayuti Govt's First Budget

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] March 10: Major Budget Announcements for Maharashtra  Updates Live for 2025–2026:  The budget for the 2025–2026 financial year of the Devendra Fadnavis-led Mahayuti government will be delivered on Monday by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who is in charge of the state Assembly's finance responsibility.

The state has seen significant political instability over the last five years, with two separate governments, each lasting 2.5 years, so the government's greatest task ahead of the budget session is to come up with creative methods to raise revenue and expand capital expenditure.  Will the government be capable of making audacious choices?  Watch this space for further information.

Economic Survey:

Based on the government's Economic Survey, which Pawar presented to the Assembly last week, Maharashtra's GDP is anticipated to expand by 7.3% in 2024–2025.  According to the poll, the growth of the service and manufacturing sectors has slowed.  According to the Economic Survey, the Indian economy is projected to expand by 6.5%.  The study also noted a fall in the amount of money Maharashtra received from the Indian government.

In his examination of the "tough test" awaiting the Fadnavis ahead of the budget, Girish Kuber writes "Maharashtra can ill afford its business-as-usual attitude as the going gets hard as more and more states become competitive."  The man in the hot seat, Fadnavis, is the only one who is understand this.  Today's first budget from his government will put both his directional skills and his capacity to maintain stability the big ship he is responsible for guiding to the test.
