Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder Case: Who is Jitendra Raghuvanshi; Sonam’s family boycotts her
Govind, the brother of Sonam Raghuvanshi, stated that his family has cut off all ties with her and promised to support Raja Raghuvanshi's family.

New Delhi (India) June 12: As the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case continues to be investigated and new information is revealed nearly daily, a new name Jitendra Raghuvanshi has surfaced, giving the case a whole new angle.
Sonam Raghuvanshi is accused of using Jitendra Raghuvanshi's account to make the first payments to the hitmen hired to kill Raja Raghuvanshi on May 23.
Sonam's brother Govind has told the media on Wednesday that Jitendra Raghuvanshi was his cousin when they asked him who he was. Govind also mentioned that Jitendra's name was used to open Sonam's UPI account.
When Jitendra's name surfaced during the investigation, it also raised suspicions that Sonam had used the hawala channel for the transactions, and her family's business was investigated for possible hawala connections.
Govind, however, denied the allegations, stating that Jitendra was a junior worker at their family business as well and that their money was in his account, which was utilised for routine transactions.
Sonam Raghuvanshi has been "boycotted" by her family after apparently confessing to the murder of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, in Meghalaya. According to Govind, Raja's family wants her to be hanged if she is found guilty.
According to the Meghalaya Police, Sonam Raghuvanshi 'Mangalsutra' lifted her cover after allegedly killing her husband, Raj Raghuvanshi, during their honeymoon.
The Meghalaya Police said, “We recovered Sonam's 'mangalsutra' and a ring from the suitcase the couple abandoned at a homestay in Sohra. A married woman leaving behind the ornaments gave us a clue to pursue her as a suspect in the case.”
In the murder case of Raja Raghuvanshi, the Meghalaya Police have arrested five people: his wife Sonam Raghuvanshi, her accused lover Raj Kushwaha and three males known as Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi. On Wednesday, the five defendants were ordered to eight days of police custody and were sent to Meghalaya.
Sonam is charged with planning the murder of Raja, who was murdered 12 days after their marriage while on their vacation in Meghalaya. They had enlisted three of Raj Kushwaha's acquaintances to commit murder because Sonam was apparently in love with Kushwaha, who worked for their family business.
