Miss World 2025: Contestants explore the beauty and traditions of Telangana
During their tour of Telangana , Miss World 2025 contestants saw a lively sample of Telangana's culture and heritage.

New Delhi(India) May 16: During their tour, Miss World 2025 contestants experienced ikat weaving in Pochampally and participate in traditional ceremonies, music, and dancing at the Yadagirigutta temple. Telangana would use beauty pageants to boost its profile worldwide.
The United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) has conferred Pochampally village as the "Best World Tourism Village" which was visited by the 25 contenders from the African region.The competitors were delighted to see the creation of their famous Ikat sarees, which are famous for their beautiful geometric designs, after receiving a traditional welcome at Pochampally on Thursday. Some even attempted to use the spinning wheel to spin cotton.
The music performed by the local artists on the "kinnera" and "dappu," two traditional string and percussion instruments native to Telangana, delighted the contestants. They tried to play the instruments and danced to the music. The finalists posed for pictures and had their hands mehendi tattooed by local artists, thoroughly enjoying the celebrations.
In the meantime, a group of Miss World competitors wearing traditional Indian sarees travelled to Yadagirigutta to see the Lord Lakshmi Narasimha temple.
The 700-year-old Banyan tree in the nearby Mahabubnagar district and the AIG hospital, which is known for providing expert care in several fields, would be visited by the Miss World 2025 contestants on Friday.
The contestants would witness the enormous Banyan tree at Pillalamarri, whose branches cover an area of almost three acres, after touring many Telangana tourism attractions.
22 competitors from the Caribbean and Americas contingent experienced the rich historical and architectural history of the area by touring the Warangal Fort and the Thousand Pillar Temple.
The Miss World candidates visited a number of the state's most popular tourist destinations. They visited the Ramappa temple, a Unesco site and also took a heritage walk at Charminar.
Hyderabad hosted the start of the Miss World 2025 pageant on May 10 and it will end on May 31.
