Pak Hackers Target Indian Defence Sites Amid Pahalgam Tensions
Indian Defence Cyber Walls Under Attack by Pakistan Hackers

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] May 5: Just days after the Pahalgam incident, a hacker group from Pakistan has stirred fresh trouble. The group called ‘Pakistan Cyber Force’ claimed that it has broken into key Indian defence websites. These include the Indian Military Engineering Services and a top defence think tank. Officials haven’t confirmed the breach yet, but some believe that personal data, such as login credentials of defence staff, may have been leaked.
Sensitive Defence Data Possibly Leaked
The cyber attackers used their social media to share screenshots and claims about their actions. According to those posts, they gained access to classified data related to Indian army personnel. This kind of data includes passwords and login details. Such cybercrimes, if true, can be a serious threat to national safety and trust in online systems used by the defence forces.
Website Defaced with Enemy Symbols
The group didn’t just stop at stealing data. They also tried to insult Indian defence pride by defacing a government website. The official site of Armoured Vehicle Nigam Limited was targeted. The hackers posted the Pakistani flag and a picture of the Al Khalid tank. Authorities quickly took the website offline and have started a deep check of its security.
History Repeats in Digital Battles
Cyberattacks from across the border are not new. In past years too, groups from Pakistan have been blamed for targeting Indian institutions online. These digital fights often happen when real-world tensions rise. After the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26, online platforms have become a new front in this conflict. In 1960, India and Pakistan signed the Indus Water Treaty — now even that has been suspended after the recent violence.
Fresh Cyber Threats on Schools and Welfare Sites
This is the second cyberattack reported after the Pahalgam tragedy. Earlier, hackers tried to breach websites connected to schools and veterans. Places like Army Public School in Nagrota and welfare sites were hit. The goal seemed to be to spread hate and mock the victims of the attack. Indian cyber experts are now on high alert, working to block such threats before they harm more digital spaces.
