New Delhi (India) June 3: An unnamed attacker shot and killed 17-year-old Sana Yousaf, a Pakistani TikTok star, at her Islamabad home on Monday.

Sana Yousaf was shot at close range by an unidentified man who apparently broke into her Islamabad home and started shooting at her and then ran away.

According to police officials, “The killer reportedly entered the house and opened fire before fleeing the scene.”

“Sana Yousuf, who hailed from Upper Chitral and resided in Sector G-13 of Islamabad, was fatally shot by a guest who had come to visit her at her residence. The assailant fled the scene immediately after the incident, and police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the suspect.”

The incident happened within the Sumbal police station's jurisdiction, which adds to the increasing number of incidents of this kind that have been recorded recently.

Yousaf's last Instagram post drew a lot of attention shortly after her passing. The young TikToker can be seen celebrating her birthday with friends in the now-viral video.

Her body was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for postmortem. The investigation is still underway and no arrests have been made as of now.

According to sources, the motive of murder is still unclear.

People on social media are upset about the murder and are calling for justice for Sana. This is not the first time a teenage female influencer in Pakistan has been killed.

In Quetta, Pakistan, a 15-year-old girl was shot dead earlier this year by her father and maternal uncle in what is believed to be an honour killing because of her TikTok presence.

Sana Yousaf was a popular TikTok user and a growing voice among Pakistani Gen Z influencers. She had more than 4 lakh followers on her social media channels. She was well-known for her videos showing Chitral culture, lifestyle content, and strong support of women's rights and education. She frequently posted inspirational material meant to uplift young Pakistanis, especially girls.

'Justice For Sana Yousuf' and other hashtags have been trending on social media sites like Instagram and X due to the widespread rage over her killing.

According to the police, the suspect might have visited Yousaf's home in the G-13 sector of Islamabad.

The internet has been flooded with activists, influencers and people calling for immediate action and justice for the dead content creator.
