President Murmu Inaugurates Yashoda Medicity, Calls Affordable Healthcare Key to National Development
The President on Sunday said that healthcare is an important component of national development and the people have every right to get affordable and quality medical facilities.
New Delhi (India) October 26: President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated Yashooda Medicity Hospital in Indirapuram on Sunday. Joining her were Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel.
Healthcare as Pillar of Growth
Speaking at a function after inaugurating a private hospital in Ghaziabad today, the President emphasised that the health service formed part of national development. An effective medical system should be available to everyone, she added. She said by serving in health care, you are serving your country.
The President said, "Health service is an integral part of national development. Protecting people from diseases and improving their health standards is among the top priorities of the government.”
She pointed to the fact that the government is constantly upgrading health infrastructure and medical facilities all over the country. These efforts will go a long way in the making of a healthy and developed India, she said.
Public-Private Collaboration Urged
There was also the need for everyone else, especially those from the private sector to be actively involved to ensure that quality healthcare is taken to everywhere in this country.
The president also visited the hospital and said that it was for the first time that she saw such a modern facility, where all diagnostic and treatment facilities are available under one roof which will save precious time of the patients, officials said.
