India announced on Sunday that it inflicted significant damage on Pakistan’s military during the three-day standoff, including shooting down advanced fighter jets and striking key military installations near Islamabad.

Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai said around 35 to 40 Pakistani military personnel were killed in the operations. He emphasized that India met its operational goals and warned that Pakistan would face severe consequences for any future provocations.

Top officials from the Army, Air Force, and Navy held a press briefing where they shared a detailed account of Operation Sindoor, outlining India’s successful efforts in thwarting Pakistani attempts to attack Indian military and civilian targets.

The final rites for those killed in the recent Pakistani shelling amid the military conflict with India were held on Sunday.

The Jammu division, which endured the worst of the cross-border firing, reported the highest number of casualties, including civilian deaths.

Rifleman Sunil Kumar (25) of the 4 J&K Light Infantry regiment was laid to rest in his native village Triva in the Arnia sector, where hundreds gathered to bid him a tearful farewell.

In a separate shelling incident in the same sector, BSF Sub-Inspector Mohammed Imteyaz was also killed.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary attended Imteyaz’s wreath-laying ceremony on Sunday, along with Minister Satish Sharma and senior BSF and police officials who paid floral tributes to the fallen officer.
