S Jaishankar Talks to Marco Rubio on India-Pakistan De-escalation

New Delhi [India], May 10: As tension rises between India and Pakistan, India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar gave a calm response to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Speaking over a phone call, Jaishankar shared that India always acts responsibly, even during serious matters. This peaceful reply came after Rubio asked both India and Pakistan to avoid war and work on peace talks with help from the US.

Rubio’s Call for Dialogue and Peace

Marco Rubio had reached out after the shocking terror attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam, where 26 people lost their lives. He offered support and said the US would help both nations talk things out. He stressed the importance of clear talks between India and Pakistan to avoid future problems and misunderstandings that can lead to conflict.

History of India-Pakistan Tensions

India and Pakistan have had many ups and downs since their separation in 1947. Over the years, both countries have faced each other in wars and border fights. One of the latest reasons for stress was India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, where Indian forces struck terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation was India’s answer to the deadly attack in Pahalgam.

Jaishankar’s Steady Stand Draws Attention

People across the world noticed how calm and mature Jaishankar’s response was. Instead of replying with anger, he spoke of peace and keeping control. His way of handling the situation showed India’s wish to avoid war, even when tested. This shows India’s experience in handling tough global issues with balance and wisdom.

America Talks to Both Sides

To keep things from getting worse, Marco Rubio also spoke to Pakistan’s leaders, including their Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Army Chief Asim Munir. He gave the same message to Pakistan—keep peace and avoid war. The US said it respects both India and Pakistan and wants both friends to talk instead of fight.
