Shashi Tharoor slams Pakistan in his latest speech in Panama; justifies Operation Sindoor
Shashi Tharoor strongly condemned Pakistan's support of terrorism against India while leading an all-party delegation in Panama.

New Delhi (India) May 28: In a public speech to the Indian community, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, strongly opposed Pakistan's ongoing support for terrorism activities towards India.
He said, “When nothing was clearly being done, two weeks later, on the 7th of May, we attacked the known headquarters of terrorist bases inside Pakistan. We had no interest in starting a war, but we felt that a terrorist act must not go unpunished."
In Panama City, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is leading one of the all-party delegations on the global outreach mission of Operation Sindoor, said that despite the leaders' diverse political backgrounds, they are all "united in national purpose."
He said, "We all come from different political backgrounds and different parts of India, but we are united in national purpose.”
He also justified the Operation Sindoor which had left 26 Indian women widowed. He said, "Some women cried out. The terrorists killed me too, and they said, 'No, go back, tell what happened to you. We heard, we heard their cries and India decided that the colour of the Sindoor, the vermilion colour on the forehead of our women, will also match the colour of the blood of the killers, the perpetrators, the attackers.”
According to Tharoor, Pakistan has not respected India's peaceful objectives.
He added, “Our desire to be left alone has not been reciprocated. They have attacked us repeatedly because they want territory that we control, and which is part of our sovereign borders”
Shashi Tharoor urged Panama to assist India in applying pressure on the Pakistani government to identify terrorists and file charges against them.
He said, "It is just not acceptable for us to continue to bear the pain, the grief, the wounds, the losses and then merely go and tell the international community, look what is happening to us. Please help us. Please put pressure on the perpetrators to actually identify and prosecute the criminals.”
He also reminded the audience that terror acts have been a part of India's history for almost 40 years, starting with the 1989 Kashmir conflicts.
He said, "We have suffered attack after attack for almost four decades now. Going back from the first attacks in Kashmir in 1989 onwards, we have seen repeated outrageous civilian victims.”
"It is just not acceptable for us to continue to bear the pain, the grief, the wounds, the losses, and then merely go and tell the international community, look what is happening to us. Please help us. Please put pressure on the perpetrators.”
Shashi Tharoor stated that India only began Operation Sindoor on May 7 after waiting to see if the Pakistani authorities would do anything to catch the terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam incident on April 22.
