However, the Travis was dismissed by the Siraj’s Yorker who made 140 runs yet it was the bowler’s fiery celebration that began a war of words. "I said well bowled but he thought otherwise. When he pointed me towards the shed, he got a little bite back from me," Head shared, criticizing Siraj's approach.

The Adelaide crowd voiced their displeasure over Siraj’s actions, with many Australian supporters booing the pacer after his intense send-off to Head. The moment became a topic of heated debate, with Head adding that he was disappointed in how the incident unfolded. "If they want to react like that, if that's how they want to represent themselves then so be it,” he remarked, adding that the reaction was unwarranted given the situation of the game.
Head Stands Up for Himself
In the post-stumps interview, Head clarified that while he was disappointed with his response, he felt compelled to stand up for himself. “Not as heated as I would like it to be... but I’m also going to stand up for myself,” Head explained. He stressed that such behavior was not in line with how he likes to play the game. “I'd like to think in our team that we wouldn't do that," he added.
Tough Conditions and Personal Milestone
Despite the tension, Head expressed satisfaction with his innings, calling it a tough wicket but noting that he was glad to make a significant contribution. “Nice to get a few runs… it was a tough wicket, and have put the guys in a good position,” he said. Head also shared a personal note about his celebration upon reaching three figures, dedicating it to his newborn son.

Thanks to Head's vital knock, Australia established a 157-run lead after being bowled out for 337. India finished Day 2 at 128/5, still trailing by 29 runs, with Rishabh Pant and Nitish Kumar Reddy at the crease. Siraj and Bumrah took four wickets each for India, but the match remains finely poised going into Day 3.
