Veteran Actor-Director Manoj Kumar Dies at the age of 87 Following Prolonged Illness
Renowned actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar, who is aslo known as "Bharat Kumar," died at the age of 87 following a long illness.

Manoj Kumar, a renowned Bollywood actor who gained fame for his patriotic films and powerful on-screen persona, passed on Thursday night at the age of 87. He died due to heart-related issues after being admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, with decompensated liver cirrhosis recorded as the secondary cause of death.
Manoj Kumar, who was born Harikrishnan Goswami in 1937 in Abbottabad (now in Pakistan), he came to fame due to his strong nationalistic views. Because of his depiction of Indian values on TV, he was given the loving nickname "Bharat Kumar".
Although he made his Bollywood debut in 1957 with Fashion, he gained fame for his role opposite Sayeeda Khan in Kanch Ki Gudiya (1961). Shaheed (1965), Upkar (1967), Purab Aur Paschim (1970), and Kranti (1981) were those films that launched him to stardom due to their nationalistic themes.
Manoj Kumar was One of the most admired persons of his time, he also received the Padma Shri and Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his acting, directing, and writing contributions to Indian cinema.
