Vladimir Putin will visit India soon , says Russian FM Lavrov
Vladimir Putin, who has developed good ties with Prime Minister Modi, will pay his first visit since the war with Ukraine began in 2022.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] March 27: Sergey Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, said that soon, ties between Russia and India would reach an all-time high. This is why Russian President Vladimir Putin is visiting India. He announced in a television speech today that preparations for the President's visit are underway.
Mr. Lavrov said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made his first foreign visit to Russia after being re-elected for his third consecutive term. Now it is our turn." He said, "Arrangements are currently being made for President Vladimir Putin to visit India." He did not say what month or date the visit might happen, though.
The Prime Minister of India asked the President of Russia to pay him a state visit while he was in Russia last year. "President Vladimir Putin has accepted an invitation to visit from the Indian
head of government. A visit by the Russian head of state to the Republic of India is being planned," Mr. Lavrov said.
"Russia and India: Towards a New Bilateral Agenda" was the name of the meeting where Mr. Lavrov spoke. The meeting was set up by the RIAC, or Russian International Affairs Council.
This would be President Putin's first trip to India since February 2022, when the war in Ukraine started. President Putin's "new economic roadmap" for 2030 is likely to move forward with this visit. India and Russia have decided to increase their trade between the two countries to more than $100 billion a year.
Both countries have also agreed to make trade between the two Asian giants much bigger. The sea trade route between Chennai and Vladivostok will be very important for getting new goods from Russia to India. There is currently about $60 billion worth of trade between the two countries every year.
Sergey Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, revealed this week that Moscow wants to completely change the way it works with New Delhi. Besides the current ties, Russia wants to build a "special and privileged strategic partnership" with India, he stated.
President Putin wrote in his most recent message to President Droupadi Murmu, Russia-India relations are based on a special and privileged strategic partnership. I am confident that we will use joint efforts to continue to consistently build up productive bilateral cooperation across all areas, as well as constructive interaction in international affairs. Without a doubt, this meets the fundamental interests of our friendly peoples and is in line with the efforts to form a fair, multi-polar international order."
India has been allies with Russia for many years, and over the years, Russia has become an important source of defence equipment for India. Also, Russia has offered India cheaper oil because the west has put sanctions on Russia because of the war in Ukraine. The two countries decided to double their trade to USD 100 billion during PM Modi's visit last year.
