Operation Sindoor Achieved Its Mission, Says Rajnath; Warns Pakistan of Swift Action if Provoked Again

New Delhi (India) July 29: Rajnath Singh, the defence minister, gives the opening comments during a special debate on "Operation Sindoor" in the Lok Sabha. He warns Pakistan that strikes will restart if it makes any mistakes.

During the debate, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commends the remarks made by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

Singh Says Over 100 Terrorists Killed in Precision Strikes

Rajnath Singh praises the Indian military for Operation Sindoor. He points out that the Centre allowed them full independence in selecting their targets.

Singh says that the 'politico-military purpose' of the operation was to punish Pakistan for using terrorism as a proxy war.

According to Rajnath Singh, the goal of Operation Sindoor was to conquer the enemy rather than start a conflict.

In the Lok Sabha, Rajnath Singh discloses that Operation Sindoor in May resulted in the deaths of over 100 terrorists.

Nine Terror Camps in PoK Targeted

Singh says that the precision strikes by the Indian military hit nine terrorist infrastructure targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

He added, “I am proud to say that our Air Defence system, Counter-Drone system, and electronic equipment completely foiled this attack by Pakistan. Pakistan could not hit any of our targets, and none of our important assets were damaged. Our security arrangements were impregnable, and every attack was thwarted.”

BJP MP Panda Criticizes Congress

Baijayant Jay Panda is the national vice president of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He takes a jab at the Congress. He claims that the party is preventing its own member and well-known speaker, Shashi Tharoor, from speaking in the Lok Sabha.

Panda said, "There are several leaders in your (Congress) party who can speak well... My friend Shashi Tharoor Ji, who is a good speaker, is not allowed to speak by his party."

When the BJP MP was making the statement, Tharoor could be seen chuckling in the background.

Panda also blames the past Congress governments for settling Pakistan rather than retaliating while citing multiple terrorist attacks on India.

In response to the question of whether India was under pressure to declare a ceasefire with Pakistan, he states that the military action was only stopped in response to a direct request from Pakistan.

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7. It is India's retaliation to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack killed 26 people, primarily tourists.
