13 soldiers killed and several injured in a Suicide bombing incident in Pakistan

New Delhi (India) June 28: In Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province's North Waziristan district, a suicide bomber has crashed an explosives-laden car into a military convoy. The attack killed 13 soldiers and wounded 10. The attack also injured 19 civilians. According to an official, four wounded soldiers are still in serious condition after the incident.

According to a police official, “A suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a military convoy. The blast killed 13 soldiers, injured 10 army personnel and 19 civilians.”

He also added, “The explosion also caused the roofs of two houses to collapse, injuring six children.”

The most recent suicide bombing occurs as a result of an increase in militant strikes throughout Pakistan, especially in the areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

The suicide unit of the Pakistan Taliban-affiliated Hafiz Gul Bahadur organisation claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing.

Since the Taliban took over Afghanistan in 2021, there has been an increase in violence in Pakistan's border areas. Islamabad has accused Kabul of providing refuge to militants who conduct cross-border operations, a claim the Afghan Taliban continue to refute.

According to reports, since the start of the year, anti-government armed groups have attacked and murdered some 290 people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, primarily security officers.

In March of this year, a suicide attacker apparently targeted the Frontier Corps camp near the Jandola checkpost in South Waziristan, causing the Pakistan Army to claim the lives of ten militants suspected of having ties to the TTP.

In March, 21 passengers and four paramilitary personnel were killed when Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) militants attacked the Jaffar Express passenger train near Gudalar and Piru Kunri.

Security officers have surrounded the area and started search operations. The authorities have opened an investigation into the event. The murdered soldiers' identities were not made public right away.
