Uttar Pradesh[India] December 13:  Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said his party’s alliance with the Congress will continue. He made this clear after the INDIA bloc faced defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections. He said the alliance experience in Bihar was not as expected. He added that this will not weaken unity among partners. He said efforts will be made to bring all INDIA alliance parties together. His statement came amid claims by the BJP. BJP claimed that cracks have appeared in the opposition bloc. Akhilesh Yadav rejected this view and spoke about collective responsibility.

Claims Raised Over Electoral Roll Revision

Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the BJP wants to delete voters through a mapping app. The app is being used during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Uttar Pradesh. He said there is a mismatch between uploaded data and actual voter information. He claimed this could lead to deletion of nearly three crore voters. He said this issue is serious and affects democracy. He added that his party has already raised the matter in Parliament. He urged authorities to closely examine the use of such technology.

Questions Over App Development and Funding

The SP chief further alleged that the mapping app was developed by a company linked to electoral bond donations. He said the same company had donated funds to the BJP. He questioned where the voter data is being stored. He said developers should clarify how the data is being used. He alleged that vote deletion happens in areas where the BJP loses elections. He said such practices harm public trust. He asked the Election Commission to ensure transparency. He stressed that voter confidence must be protected at all costs.

Concerns Linked to 2027 Uttar Pradesh Elections

Akhilesh Yadav said the BJP wants to win the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections using SIR. He said the process is being used like NRC in another form. He said NRC could not be implemented directly. He alleged that SIR is now being used instead. He said this could impact large sections of voters. He said elections should be won through public support. He said deletion of voters is not acceptable in a democracy. His remarks added political heat ahead of the next Assembly polls.
