Kimmel's controversial monologue

In his 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' monologue, Kimmel attacked Republicans for apparently trying to politicize the shooting.

He said, "We hit some new lows over the weekend with the Maga gang desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it”.

Kimmel also criticized Trump's grief over Kirk. He said, "This is how a 4-year-old mourns a goldfish.”

Trump cheers, mocks late-night hosts

President Donald Trump says on his social media platform Truth Social, “Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT” regarding the decision.

Trump claims Kimmel is untalented. He also adds that his numbers were lower than Stephen Colbert's. He refers to NBC anchors Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers as "losers with poor ratings". Trump urges the network to likewise stop their programs.

Kimmel has continuously criticized President Donald Trump and a number of his policies. On a number of occasions, the US President has urged the FCC to cancel station licenses. He put pressure on broadcasters to stop airing information that he finds offensive.
