Donald Trump calls Putin ‘crazy’; criticizes the latest airstrikes by Russia on Ukraine
Trump has called Vladimir Putin "crazy" in reaction to Russia's increased drone strikes on Ukraine.

New Delhi (India) May 26: US President Donald Trump referred to Russian President Vladimir Putin as "crazy" on Sunday for carrying out one of the largest attacks against Ukraine since the war began. Additionally, he cautioned Moscow that any move to completely occupy Ukraine would "lead to the downfall of Russia."
Trump accused Putin of promoting unnecessary violence and said that his actions could lead to the collapse of Russia.
Trump posted, "I've always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY! He is needlessly killing a lot of people, and I'm not just talking about soldiers. Missiles and drones are being shot into Cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever," on Truth Social.
He also added that, "I've always said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that's proving to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia!"
Trump also did not spare Volodymyr Zelenskyy either and accused him of giving the European country "no favours" by "talking the way he does.”
He said, "Everything out of his mouth causes problems, I don't like it, and it better stop. This is a war that would have never started if I were president. This is Zelenskyy's, Putin's, and Biden's war, not 'Trump's,' I am only helping to put out the big and early fires that have been started through gross incompetence and hatred."
Russia's airstrikes on Ukraine happened after the two nations' largest prisoner exchange since Moscow began its full-scale invasion in February 2022, in which each side returned 1,000 prisonered soldiers and civilians.
A 17-year-old and two children were among those who were killed in the Russian strikes in the northwest of Zhytomyr.
Putin had simply announced a vague plan to draft a "memorandum" describing Moscow's demands for peace but he has not committed to stopping his three-year invasion of Ukraine.
Trump has informed the media that he would "absolutely" think about enforcing more sanctions against Russia in order to push peace negotiations between the two countries.
