Harmanpreet's Century and Kranti Goud's 6 Wickets Help India Beat England by 13 Runs to Win ODI Series 2-1
With a century from Harmanpreet Kaur and a record-breaking six-wicket haul from Kranti Goud, Indian cricket celebrates a remarkable win against England in the third ODI.

New Delhi (India) July 23: India seals the series with 2-1 on Wednesday. They defeated England by a small margin of 13 runs in the third and final ODI at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur's dominant century and 19-year-old bowler Kranti Goud's game-winning six-wicket performance contributed to the win.
Goud takes 6 big wickets
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur gives junior bowler Kranti Goud a special tribute. Goud took a much needed six wicket haul against England in the third ODI match. Kaur also shares her Player of the match award with Goud.
The BCCI shared a video of Harmanpreet giving Kranti the trophy and a signed match ball. Kaur was seen saying, "Main tumse share kar rahi hoon." She also gives Goud a big hug.
The 21-year-old finished with 6/52. This includes crucial wickets of Lauren Bell and Nat Sciver-Brunt (98). She becomes the second-youngest Indian woman to capture five wickets in ODIs.
Kaur hits a quick century
In the third women's ODI, India defeated England by a comprehensive 13-run margin. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur once again scores with a brilliant century. She scores 102-run only on 84 balls.
She achieved her century in 82 balls. This is the second-fastest ODI century by an Indian woman. Her status as the foundation of Indian batting is also strengthened as she becomes the third Indian woman to reach 4,000 runs in ODIs.
Despite the importance of the personal milestone, Harmanpreet is aware that the real work is still left.
She said, "Today was a totally different situation, a different pitch, a different atmosphere. In home conditions it will be different. But whenever you win, that always gives you a positive mindset and keeps you in a good place. This series will definitely give us a lot of confidence but, again, when we go back, we have to start again from ball one.”
India scores 318 runs
India won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring an impressive 318 for 5.
Throughout the innings, Kaur relied on strong partnerships to continue her innings. Harleen Deol joined Kaur at the crease after Smriti Mandhana was dismissed for 45.
Kaur also made a 110 run partnership with Jemimah Rodrigues in 77 balls. Richa Ghosh’s 38 runs on 18 balls also helped India score 318.
England's attempt to reach 319 got off to a terrible start. Goud took the wickets of both the openers in her opening two overs. This left England at 9 for 2. Emma Lamb and captain Nat Sciver-Brunt put up 162 for the third wicket.
Deepti Sharma took the wicket of Sciver-Brunt. She got out at 98 by Sharma in the 35th over. There was just one wicket left and 14 runs needed in the last over. Goud took the wicket of Lauren Bell to finish the match.
India's women's team finished their tour of England with a 2-1 victory in the ODI series and a 3-2 victory in the T20I series. This is their second consecutive all-format away series win.
