IDF Strikes Presidential Office in Tehran
The military claimed that several bombs were dropped on the Presidential Office and the installation of the Supreme National Security Council. It further mentioned that the place where top security officials hold their high- level decision making meetings was also hit, together with an institute in charge of training military officers and some other strategic infrastructure.
The IDF said, “Numerous munitions were dropped on the Presidential Office and the building of the Supreme National Security Council.”
Khamenei's Residence Hit
The compound was also the residence of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei , who succumbed to his wounds Saturday when Israel and the United States launched what they called preemptive strikes against Iran.
“The compound served the leader of the Iranian terror regime who was eliminated, Ali Khamenei, and infrastructures used to manage attacks against the State of Israel, to direct and finance the regime's terror proxies, were stored within it,” the IDF said.
Inside IDF's Precise Intelligence on Tehran Targets
The IDF outlined the site as being one of Iran's most heavily guarded spots, situated in central Tehran. The Israeli military stated that the highest, ranking political and security leaders were there regularly to review Nuclear developments.
In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces said the Israel Air Force had overnight strikes on Monday based on what it described as very accurate intelligence, hitting and demolishing the facilities of the compound situated right in the middle of the capital.
As per Israel, the strike was the result of a thorough military intelligence gathering and research phase, with the aim of undermining the Iranian command and control systems' ability to operate.
Increased Middle East Tensions
Iran's response to strikes following the joint US-Israeli strikes that started last Saturday and killed Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several other senior Iranian officials have brought tensions in the Middle East to new heights.
Tehran has responded with strikes on Israeli and US military bases in the Gulf countries. Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are continually exposed to air raids and missile attacks.
US President Donald Trump has said that military operations against Iran could last longer than a month, he also said that the United States is ready for a long campaign.
