Mangaluru Mob Lynching: Man Dies After Shouting 'Pakistan Zindabad'

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] April 29: On a calm Sunday afternoon near Kudupu village in Mangaluru, Karnataka, locals gathered to play a cricket tournament. Ten teams, lots of excitement, and cheering filled the air. But what started as a fun event suddenly turned into a dark memory. A young man allegedly shouted something during the game, and in just a few minutes, he was surrounded and attacked by a group.

The Slogan That Triggered Violence

Some people present at the match said the man shouted “Pakistan Zindabad”. This angered a few people, who then began arguing with him. What began as a fight between two people soon turned into a group attack. Many joined in and started hitting him with sticks and their hands. A few people tried to stop the fight, but they were too late to save him from the violence.

The Victim’s Death and What Police Found

After the beating, the man lay injured near the Bhatra Kallurti temple. Hours later, his body was discovered. The police were called and began investigating the matter. A post-mortem report from Wenlock District Hospital showed that he had suffered serious injuries. His back, hands, and even his private parts had been hit badly. Doctors confirmed that he died due to internal bleeding and shock.

Arrests Made, More Suspects Tracked

Mangaluru Police have taken the matter seriously. One main accused named Sachin has already been arrested. He is a resident of Kudupu and was involved in the fight. Police said the case is strong. If proven guilty, those responsible can get life imprisonment or even the death penalty. So far, 19 names are in the FIR. CCTV cameras and mobile phones are helping police find more people involved.

Public Reaction and Past Incidents

This incident has shocked the entire state. People are asking how such hate can grow during a simple game. Karnataka has seen such mob-related violence before too, but every time, it leaves pain behind. The local government promised strict action. Police say they won’t stop until every person involved is caught. The area where this happened, near Kudupu temple, is now silent — carrying a memory that people will not forget soon.
