New Delhi (India) May 7: Nine terror-related places in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), including an extremely important compound in Bahawalpur, were particularly targeted during the operation.Five of the nine targets were in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, and four were in Pakistan itself.

Masood Azhar, 56, is on the UN Security Council's list of international terrorists. He was a part of the plan for several terror attacks in India, including the 2001 Parliament attack, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, the 2016 Pathankot attack, and the 2019 Pulwama attack. The terrorist's involvement in Pakistan is well known, but Islamabad has denied being aware of him on many occasions.

According to a statement given by Azhar, who was arrested in India in 1994 and released after the hijacking of Air India IC 814, his older sister, her husband, a nephew and his wife, a niece, and five children from the extended family were among those killed in the attack on JeM headquarters, Jamia Masjid Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur.

Ten members of my family were blessed with this happiness together tonight... five are innocent children, my elder sister, her honorable husband. My scholar Fazil bhanje (nephew) and his wife and my beloved scholar Fazilah (bhanji) ... my dear brother Huzaifah and his mother. Two more dear companions," he said, saying that those killed have become the guests of Allah.

He said he has "neither regret nor despair". "Rather, it comes to my heart again and again that I too would have joined this fourteen-member happy caravan.Time for their departure had come, but the Lord did not kill them." He also invited people to the prayers today.

The Indian military attacked terrorist camps in Punjab and Pakistan's PoK. Five targets were destroyed in PoK, while four targets were hit in Punjab, home to the Jaish and Lashkar headquarters. In a 25-minute period late Tuesday night, between 1 and 1.30 am, up to 21 terror camps were destroyed over 9 targets.
