PM Modi Condemns Bondi Beach Hanukkah Terror Attack, Vows India's Support to Australia Against Antisemitic Violence Killing 12
According to police reports, on Sunday, Sydney's Bondi Beach was the location where at least 12 people were killed by an unknown number of gunmen armed with automatic weapons. Police fatally shot one of the shooters, while they apprehended the second shooter.

Modi's Strong Message of Solidarity
According to Modi, India will not bear terrorism, and countries will continue the alliance to counter evil in all its forms and aspects.
Modi said, "Strongly condemn the ghastly terrorist attack carried out today at Bondi Beach, Australia, targeting people celebrating the first day of the Jewish festival of Hanukkah."
"On behalf of the people of India, I extend my sincere condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. We stand in solidarity with the people of Australia in this hour of grief," he added.
UN Chief Horrified by 'Heinous' Sydney Assault
The UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemned the act as "a horrible act of violence."
He said, “I am horrified and condemn today’s heinous deadly attack on Jewish families gathered in Sydney to celebrate Hannukah. My heart is with the Jewish community worldwide on this first day of Hannukah, a festival celebrating the miracle of peace and light vanquishing darkness.”
Albanese Pledges Zero Tolerance for Antisemitism in Australia
The Australian PM Anthony Albanese regarded the shootings as a "deliberate strike" against the Jews and declared that there would be no place for anti-Semitism in Australia henceforth.
In the wake of the horrific mass killings that took place last night at Bondi Beach, Sydney, Albanese has promised the Jewish community in Australia his full support.
“We embrace you and we reaffirm tonight that you have every right to be proud of who you are and what you believe. You have the right to worship and study and live and work in peace and safety. And you enrich us as a nation. You should never have to endure the loss that you have suffered today. You should never know the fear that you know tonight,” he said.
Gunman Identified as Naveed Akram Amid 12 Dead, 29 Injured
As of today, at least 12 people are dead and around 29 others are injured – including two police officers.
The two gunmen that committed these heinous acts are thought to be Naveed Akram (one whose identity has been confirmed) from south-western Sydney, and the other has yet to be named. Akram had previously been living in the neighbourhood when he attacked those enjoying their time on the beach at the busy international beach over the weekend.
