Two Men Throw Chili Powder in Woman’s Eyes, Kidnap Son in Gwalior

After throwing chilli powder in his mother's eyes, two guys on bikes kidnapped a six-year-old boy in Gwalior on Thursday, according to the police.

The boy, who attended a city school as a UKG student, was waiting with his mother to be picked up by the school bus from CP Colony, Morar.

At about eight in the morning, the two thieves came up behind the mother and threw chilli powder in her eyes. They took the child and ran away with him on the bike before she realised what was going on," said Inspector General of Police Arvind Saxena of Gwalior, who offered a reward of ₹30,000 for information on the accused's whereabouts.

Saxena stated that police had closed the borders and were searching for the suspect, adding that CCTV footage was being examined.

According to the victim's father, a sugar trader, "I have no enemies." I have no idea who or why my son was kidnapped. I haven't received a ransom call as of yet.

Parents received letters from private schools after the incident reminding them to pick up their children safely and to send only trustworthy people to drop them off or pick them up.

To convey their disapproval, the Madhya Pradesh Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Gwalior, members called for a strike. “The law and order condition in the city is deteriorating by each passing day. We want safe rescue of the child. Police should act swiftly in this matter,” A local businessman, Ramesh Goyal, said.
