UEFA Champions League Final: PSG beats Inter Milan by 5-0

New Delhi (India) June 1: Paris Saint-Germain won 5-0 to win their first-ever UEFA Champions League title after controlling the game against Inter Milan from the beginning to the end. Hakimi, Doue's brace, Kvaratskhelia, and Mayulu's goals completed the French team's convincing win. With their powerful attacking play, PSG dominated the entire match and Inter Milan found it difficult to win.

PSG is the first French team to win the UCL since Marseille won it in 1993. The Munich Football Arena hosted the Champions League.

PSG took a 2-0 lead in the first 20 minutes because of goals from 19-year-old wonderkid Desire Doue and former Inter midfielder Achraf Hakimi. In the second half, the latter increased the score to 3-0. The fourth goal was scored by Georgian attacker Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, and the fifth was scored by substitute Senny Mayulu. It is Luis Enrique's second career treble as PSG manager. On the other hand, Inter has lost twice in the UCL finals in three seasons.

On the international stage, Désiré Doué made his debut as the youngest player to score two goals in a European Cup Final. Doué is also the first French player to score two goals in a European Cup Final and the first player to score more than one goal in a UCL Final after Gareth Bale, who scored twice for Real Madrid against Liverpool in the 2018 final.

PSG became the ninth different club and the eleventh different men's team to win the UEFA Champions League and three other titles in a single season.

The PSG team included Gianluigi Donnarumma; Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, William Pacho, Nuno Mendes; Joao Neves, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz; Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The Inter Milan team included Yann Sommer; Benjamin Pavard, Francesco Acerbi, Alessandro Bastoni; Denzel Dumfries, Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrix Mkhitaryan, Federico Dimarco; Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.
