US President Donald Trump leaves the G7 Summit midway citing the Middle East chaos

New Delhi (India) June 17: As the crisis between Israel and Iran began its fifth day on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump departed the G7 Summit in Canada one day early in order to return quickly to Washington. The White House merely stated that the US President was departing the meeting of world leaders due to "what's going on in the Middle East" without providing any more details.

White House Press Secretary Karoline posted, “Much was accomplished, but due to developments in the Middle East, President Trump will leave tonight after dinner with Heads of State" on social media platform X.

Trump maintained that Iran should have signed a nuclear agreement with the United States on Monday and asked everyone to leave Tehran right away.

He posted on his Truth Social account, "Iran should have signed the "deal" I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”

According to Fox News host Lawrence Jones on X, the president has asked the national security council to be ready in the situation room when he returns early from the G7 conference.

Trump issued a warning during the conference that Tehran must stop its nuclear program before it's "too late." He stated that although Iranian authorities would "like to talk," they had already had sixty days to agree on their nuclear goals and had not done so before the start of the Israeli aircraft attack.

Trump declined to respond to questions on whether the US would support Israel's military campaign against Iran during the G7 summit. He said, “As soon as I leave here, we're going to be doing something. But I have to leave here.”

On Monday, a U.S. official said that the president declined to sign a draft statement from the Group of Seven leaders that called for the Israel-Iran crisis to be stopped.

Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, praised US President Donald Trump on Monday for his support during Israel's attacks on Iran's military and nuclear facilities. Iran and Israel have warned one other of serious consequences on several occasions.

G7 leaders from the US, Japan, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Britain, and the European Union will meet till Tuesday in the Canadian Rockies resort of Kananaskis.
