‘Wapas Mile Na Mile’: Soldier’s Goodbye Goes Viral During India-Pak Tensions
What the Indian armed forces do for us cannot be repaid with words or favours. Also, this video is sure to make you feel something.

Operation Sindoor, a series of precision missile strikes across nine terror camps in Pakistan, was launched on May 7 in revenge for the Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir's Baisaran Valley on April 22 by militants from the Resistance Front (TRF), a member of Lashkar-e-Taiba. As expected, Pakistan retaliated by attempting a missile attack on Amritsar, then made more frequent attempts to target cities along the western border. Particularly hard hit was Jammu, where Pakistan centred most of its efforts. Jaisalmer and Ganganagar in Rajasthan, Pathankot in Punjab, and Kupwara, Rajouri, and Baramulla in J&K were also affected to different degrees.
With so many videos, facts, and opinions spreading online, a few glimpses that show our soldiers' dedication to duty have not only been clearly winning hearts but are also strengthening the sense of unity in the country. One video in particular has gone viral, showing a soldier casually stating that his 45-day leave ended unexpectedly and that he will be returning to the troops shortly. "Abhi yudh ka aagaz ho chuka hai," he says. "Hum log aaye hue the 45 din ki chutti ke liye. Abhi kal hi wahan se aa chuka hai bulawa, 'wapis aa jao bhai'. Yahin se ravana ho jaayenge, ghar jaane ka bhi kaam nahi hai".
But what he said immediately after this seems to have touched Indians' hearts deeply. “Wapas dobara mile na mile, iss baat ki koi guarantee nahi hai, lekin India ka kuch nahi bigdega, iss baat ki guarantee hai”,
"Agli ice cream Lahore mein khayenge?" the interviewer jokes, referring to the ice cream the soldier was consuming during the conversation. "Wahin pe juice peeyenge" is the braveheart's funny response.
