Operation Nader; Terrorists killed in an ongoing encounter with the armed forces
In the morning hours of Thursday, the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir police, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) conducted a team operation in the Nader region of J-K's Tral in Awantipora based on special intelligence input.

New Delhi (India) May 15: A conflict with security officers in Awantipora, Jammu & Kashmir, this morning resulted in the death of a terrorist. According to the police, two more terrorists are trapped in nearby areas and an armed gunfight has been going on for the past two hours.
The fight began in the south Kashmiri area of Nader and Tral in Awantipora, a subdistrict of Pulwama.

"On 15 May 2025, based on specific intelligence input from Int agency, a Cordon & Search Operation was launched by Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF at Nader, Tral, Awantipora. Suspicious activity was observed by vigilant troops and on being challenged, terrorists opened heavy fire and fierce gunfight ensued. Operation is in progress” and provided information about the 'Operation Nader'.
After an encounter, the Indian Army with the Central Reserve Police Force and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, killed three terrorists on Tuesday, including the local commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba/The Resistance Front (LeT/TRF).
The Shopian district's Keller, in the Shukroo forest, is where the three terrorists were killed. During "Operation Keller," the Indian Army also found a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition.
The Indian Army's Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI) said, "Based on inputs from intelligence agencies about the presence of terrorists in the Keller Forest of #Shopian District, Jammu & Kashmir, a joint operation was launched by #IndianArmy, @ Jmukmrpolice, and CRPF on 13 May 2025, resulting in the neutralisation of three hardcore terrorists, including the local commander of LeT/TRF, after an intense encounter” on a post on social media platform X.
A number of operations are regularly conducted in Jammu and Kashmir, especially after the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 lives. India began Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to the terror attack, targeting nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
