India to send All Party delegations to nations to convey Anti Terror message

New Delhi(India) May 17: Shashi Tharoor and six other Members of Parliament were appointed by the government on Saturday to conduct the significant communication effort. This comes after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, last month, which started Operation Sindoor, the Indian response against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs said, “In the context of Operation Sindoor and India's continued fight against cross-border terrorism, seven All-Party Delegations are set to visit key partner countries, including members of the UN Security Council later this month.”

"The All-Party Delegations will project India's national consensus and resolute approach to combating terrorism in all forms and manifestations. They would carry forth to the world the country's strong message of zero-tolerance against terrorism.”

“Members of Parliament from different parties, prominent political personalities, and distinguished diplomats will be part of each delegation.”

For the first time, the Centre will assign Members of Parliament from various parties to discuss India's position on Kashmir and Pakistan-based cross-border terrorism.

This international trip is an important step in India's diplomatic outreach, and it is being coordinated by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju. He said,"In moments that matter most, Bharat stands united. Seven All-Party Delegations will soon visit key partner nations, carrying our shared message of zero tolerance to terrorism. A powerful reflection of national unity above politics, beyond differences.”

Three of the selected MP’s belong to the opposition INDIA group and the other four are members of the ruling NDA. The seven delegations will be led by the following members of parliament:

•Shashi Tharoor, Congress

•Ravi Shankar Prasad, BJP

•Sanjay Kumar Jha, JDU

•Baijayant Panda, BJP

•Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, DMK

•Supriya Sule, NCP

•Shrikant Eknath Shinde, Shiv Sena

The delegates aim to explain the reasons behind India's targeted attacks under Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam terror incident and to increase international awareness about Pakistan's continued support for cross-border terrorism.
