Is Uddhav Thackeray's Relationship with Raj Thackeray Really a Political Move?
Shiv Sena's Double Standards and Uddhav Thackeray’s Alleged Betrayal of Raj Thackeray

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] 21 April: In Maharashtra’s political circle, Raj and Uddhav Thackeray were once seen as Balasaheb Thackeray’s two trusted arms. But time changed the story.
Cousin vs Cousin: A Battle That Never Ended
Shiv Sena’s current voice, Naresh Mhaske, openly called Uddhav a "modern Duryodhan", claiming he never let Raj rise. He said Uddhav blocked every chance Raj had, even when Balasaheb wanted to give him big responsibilities in the party.
Not Just Politics, It’s Personal Now
The Shiv Sena (UBT) is trying hard to stay alive in Maharashtra’s politics. According to Mhaske, Uddhav is reaching out to Raj only because his party is losing support. He feels Uddhav needs Raj now as his leaders fail to pull crowds like before. But Raj is not ready to forget how he was pushed out of the party years ago.
History of a Split That Shook Sena
Balasaheb Thackeray, the founder of Shiv Sena, was once the strongest voice in Maharashtra. He built the party on Marathi pride and Hindutva. But after his time, Uddhav became the leader, sidelining Raj. Hurt and angry, Raj started his own party, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), and walked his own path. Now, talks of reunion are creating a buzz, but not everyone is ready.
A Sinking Ship and a Bold Refusal
Mhaske says the Shiv Sena (UBT) is a sinking ship. They are trying to pull Raj back only to survive. But Raj is clear—he won’t return. He doesn’t want to board a boat that’s already half-sunk. This is not just a family issue anymore; it’s a fight for political respect. Mhaske even said, “Raj is not a naïve politician.” His refusal speaks volumes.
Hindutva, Hindi and Votes: The Real Game
Sanjay Nirupam added more fire, saying Uddhav’s party now looks like a ‘Muslim League’. He claimed they did not support the Waqf Amendment Bill and also opposed Hindi as a teaching language in schools. He feels Uddhav’s politics is only about winning votes, not about values. From being the voice of Hindutva, the party now stands at a strange turning point.
