Qatar Backs Peace Talks with Taliban Leader

The Qatari Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, spoke to the acting government representative, Amir Khan Muttaqi, of Afghanistan on the phone today. That involved discussing how to de-escalate the open war between Pakistan and Afghanistan in an appropriately secure and stable mode.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said, “HE the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s full support for all efforts aimed at resolving disputes through peaceful means and strengthening the foundations of peace and stability at both regional and international levels,” on social media platform X.

UK Deeply Concerned, Pushes for Dialogue

British foreign secretary, Yvette Cooper, added the UK was “deeply concerned” about the growing tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan .
“We urge both sides to take immediate steps toward de‑escalation, avoid further harm to civilians, and re‑engage in mediated dialogue,” Cooper said.

China Mediates, Calls for Quick Restraint

Mao Ning, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said China is watching closely as the escalating tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, and is really worried about the conflict and sorrow over the numbers of casualties. She called on both sides to refrain, settle by dialogue and negotiation and end the fighting now.
Mao indicated that China had been actively mediating on its own in the process through its own diplomatic means, and that she was ready to contribute positively in de-escalating relations and strengthening relationships between the two countries. She also urged the two nations to guarantee Chinese nationals, projects and institutions on their territory. 

Russia Warns of Regional Destabilization

Russia summoned Afghanistan and Pakistan to cease any cross-border military activity and restore a productive relationship with both sides through dialogue. Moscow also claimed the situation was worrying and could further destabilise the region in responding to accounts of direct clashes.
Moscow highlighted the requirement for political and diplomatic interaction to solve conflicts between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Russian officials warned that ongoing military confrontation could have serious regional repercussions.
