NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak: Latur Coaching Director Detained

The person they detained is Shivraj Motegaonkar, who runs Renukai Chemistry Classes also known as RCC.

He was taken to the CBI office in Pune for questioning because investigators found some links between his coaching institutes mock tests and the actual NEET-UG 2026 exam paper.

According to officials some questions from RCCs practice and mock test papers were the same as those asked in the NEET-UG examination that was held on May 3 2026.

This raised some concerns about a possible leak of confidential exam questions before the national-level medical entrance test.

The CBI is looking into the paper leak.

They found out that some mock test questions were the same as the NEET exam questions.

The investigation started after a parent filed a complaint saying that many questions in a test conducted by a private coaching institute in Latur were the same as those in the final NEET examination.

At first the local police started investigating the matter.

Because the allegations were serious and there could be links to other states the case was later given to the CBI.

The CBI searched the coaching institute and other places in Latur. Took some electronic devices like mobile phones, laptops, iPads and digital records.

Now they are looking at these devices for evidence related to question paper circulation, communication and financial transactions connected to the alleged leak.

The CBI also arrested a retired chemistry professor named PV Kulkarni, who they think has links to the paper-setting process.

Officials think the paper leak racket may involve a network that includes coaching institutes, education consultants and middlemen working across many states.

The investigation is going on in states.

The CBI is looking into leads in states like Maharashtra, Rajasthan and others that are connected to the case.

They are closely looking at:

 Transactions

 Phone call records

 Digital chats and messages

 Mock test material circulation

 Coaching centre involvement

The NEET-UG exam is one of the medical entrance examinations in India taken by many students every year to get into MBBS and other medical courses.

The alleged paper leak has caused a lot of concern among students and parents with many demanding action against those responsible.

The CBI is continuing its investigation. Questioning many suspects to find out the full extent of the alleged exam leak network.

This case has again raised some questions about exam security, transparency and the growing influence of coaching centres in competitive examinations, across India.
