Delhi’s CarryMen Service Goes Viral, Sparks Class Debate

Delhi Startup CarryMen Goes Viral Online

A new startup service in Delhi has grabbed massive attention online after pictures of its “shopping assistants” went viral on social media. The company, CarryMen, offers assistants who help customers carry shopping bags, stand in queues, and guide them through crowded marketplaces.

Currently operating in Lajpat Nagar, the startup has quickly become one of the internet’s most talked-about business ideas.

What Does CarryMen Offer?

According to the company, shoppers can hire an assistant for as little as 30 minutes. These assistants help customers carry heavy bags, move through busy market lanes comfortably, and even walk them safely to nearby metro stations or parking areas.

CarryMen says its aim is to make shopping easier and stress-free, especially for elderly people, women, pregnant women, and those carrying multiple heavy shopping bags.

Packages and Pricing

The startup currently offers shopping assistance packages ranging from 30 minutes to 4 hours. A 30-minute booking costs ₹149, although ongoing discounts have reduced the price to ₹79.

The company claims the service is designed to improve convenience for shoppers visiting crowded markets.

Viral Post Sparks Debate

The discussion around CarryMen started after a viral social media post showed a shopping assistant carrying bags for a woman in Delhi. The caption claimed the service also helps customers stand in food queues, find seating spots, and even arrange foldable chairs when needed.

Soon after the image spread online, social media users began debating whether such services are genuinely helpful or a reflection of growing class inequality in India.

Critics Call It “Modern-Day Privilege”

Many people criticised the idea, saying it promotes dependence on cheap labour for simple everyday tasks. Some users described the service as “modern-day privilege” and questioned whether such jobs truly support India’s youth or simply exploit economic inequality.

Several social media users argued that the growing gig economy is encouraging unproductive labour while serving the convenience of the privileged class.

Others Defend the Service

At the same time, many people supported CarryMen’s business model. Supporters pointed out that the service could be extremely useful for senior citizens, disabled individuals, pregnant women, and shoppers carrying heavy items over long distances in crowded areas.

Some users also said the startup creates employment opportunities while offering convenience to people who genuinely need assistance.

Internet Divided Over CarryMen

The viral debate has now made CarryMen one of the internet’s most discussed startups. While some see it as a smart convenience-based business idea, others believe it highlights deeper issues related to class divide and labour exploitation in India.
