Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India] April 15:  In Nagpur, a shocking incident unfolded when a young man named Mithlesh, known as Manthan, poisoned his neighbor, 18-year-old Vedant, over feelings of jealousy. Manthan harbored resentment because Vedant came from a wealthy background, with his family recently building a modern two-storey house. The stark contrast between their living conditions ignited a dangerous jealousy in Manthan, leading to a tragic act of violence.

A Deadly Act of Revenge

On April 8, Manthan invited Vedant to a local 'paan' shop where they shared soft drinks. It was there that Manthan secretly spiked Vedant’s drink with a harmful cockroach-repellent gel. The gel, designed to be toxic, caused Vedant to feel dizzy shortly after he returned home. His condition worsened quickly, and despite being rushed to the hospital, Vedant fell unconscious and tragically passed away on April 12.

The Investigation Unfolds

Initially, the police believed it was an accidental death, but medical reports soon revealed the presence of poison in Vedant’s body. Doctors confirmed that the young man did not consume the substance willingly. A detailed investigation was launched, focusing on Vedant’s last phone calls and movements, which pointed towards Manthan as the last person to have seen him alive.

As his victim's condition deteriorated, Manthan panicked and attempted to mislead the police by planting a fake ransom note on Vedant’s father’s car, hoping to confuse the investigation.
