Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: Two-Phase Voting on November 6 and 11, Results on November 14 Announced by ECI

Elections for the Bihar Assembly will take place in two stages on November 6 and November 11. The results will be announced on November 14. The 243-member state assembly's session finishes on November 22.

New Delhi (India) October 6: The timetable for the assembly elections in Bihar was released by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday. It stated that the voting will be conducted in two stages. The results will be counted on November 14. The ECI also introduced the ECI Net. They term it the "mother of all apps".

Official Statement by CEC

The CEC said, "Bihar is set to hold elections after five years. The process began with updating the voter list and will culminate in the polls. The voter list revision started on June 24, 2025, and the draft was published on August 1. Citizens were given time to file claims or objections until September 1. The final voter list was released on September 30. Appeals for any remaining errors can still be filed with the District Magistrate." 

He added, "Voters are advised to first check their names in the electoral roll, as any omissions can be corrected up to ten days before the nomination process. They should also verify their polling station details through ECI Net or consult their booth-level officers." 

Preparations for Smooth and Inclusive Voting

The Chief Election Commissioner announced that all voting places in Bihar will have access for wheelchairs. It is done for the older people. He told Superintendents of Police, District Magistrates, and all other authorities to have zero tolerance for any kind of violence during the elections.

Launch of ECI Net for Voter Access

The top polling organization said that the ECI Net aims to give voters access to real-time information. It will enhance efficiency and transparency. The poll body has called the ECI Net the "mother of all apps." 

The platform will connect 90,712 Booth Level Officers (BLOs), 243 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), and 38 District Election Officers (DEOs). It will also combine more than 40 of the ECI's current apps into a single platform.

Important Election Dates

The 121 seats will be polled in the first round on November 6 and the 122 constituencies in the second phase on November 11. Nominations for the first phase must be submitted by October 17. The examination will occur on October 18. The deadline for the candidates to withdraw their nominations is October 20.

The deadline for nominations for the second round is October 20. The inspection will take place on October 21. The candidate withdrawal will occur on October 23.

Political Alliances in Bihar

The Mahagathbandhan is led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress party. They are anticipated to compete against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal United (JDU) alliance in the 2025 Bihar elections. Prashant Kishor, an election strategist who is now a politician. He is also involved with his Jan Suraaj Party.

Kumar led a two-day visit from the Election Commission of India (ECI) to Bihar. Election Commissioners Vivek Joshi and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu were also a part of the delegation. This is in order to determine poll preparations for the next Legislative Assembly elections.
