Hang Him to Death, I Have No Objections, Says Sanjay Roy’s Mother After Conviction
Sanjay Roy’s mother reacts to the RG Kar case verdict, expressing her stance on the punishment for the convicted.

“I cooked food for the three brothers, two of which are involved in the RG Kar case,” she has said that if Sanjay Roy is guilty he should be punished even if it means a death penalty.
If the court wishes to hang him to death, I will NOT incur any grievance as his offenses have been proved in the year of the law, I will weep alone and then accept it as the will of fate. Malati Roy said on Sunday.
Still standing on the door step to her humble cottage, some 5Km from Sealdah court where Sanjay was found guilty of rape and murder of a young medic on August 9, Malati said she would have come to attend the hearing if her charges were thrown out.
Although my health was very bad I would have come to visit if those charges were proved to be lies, she said.
She also sympathized with the victim’s mother stating she could fathom the pain of the mother of the woman medic who she regards as her own daughter. From this marriage Malati delivered three daughters and one of them died some years back.
Sanjay’s sister reported he was a normal child during his early ages, but there were changes of behavior when he was growing up especially the drinking dilemma. She told the court that up to date she has never known any woman make a complaint against him for harassment. He became a drink and apart from the liquor I never myself came across any incident where Sanjay used to misbehave with any woman. As she did not have regular contact with him in the past few years, and he used to live in a separate locality, she said. I don’t have any fair idea about his associations and whether he was involved in any criminal offence,” also added.
According to the media in circulation there were had suggestions that Sanjay was not alone at the crime scene. That means that to find only one person guilty of such a crime, investigations would naturally have had to be carried out very intensively. She said that the others who been involved directly or indirectly should also be investigated and they should be brought to book,” she added.
Sanjay has been taken to court on the grounds of BNS Sections 64, 66 and 103/ 1. The quantum of punishment they deserve will be determined on Monday.
