Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder Case: Sonam Raghuvanshi declared mentally sound; murder weapon also found
Sonam Raghuvanshi, who was charged with killing her husband Raja, was found to be sound and in good mental health after undergoing an evaluation test.

New Delhi (India) June 17: On Monday, Sonam Raghuvanshi, who is being charged in connection with the murder of her husband Raja, was brought to the Meghalaya Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences for a mental health evaluation. A psychiatric examination revealed that she is mentally sound.
Sonam had a "mental assessment" at the MIMHANS hospital on the recommendation of the medical officer of the Ganesh Das hospital in Shillong. It was determined that her mental health was "sound and good" after the results came out.
Idashisha Nongrang, the DGP of Meghalaya, stated on Monday that the police are continuing their investigation since they don't think the incident may be the result of only a love triangle.
She said, “We are investigating whether there is anything more to this case. It is unusual that within a few days of marriage, she would develop so much animosity against her husband. We are exploring all possible angles for this murder to have taken place. We have enough evidence, and loose ends are being tied up. We have a solid case."
A machete used in the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi who passed away in Meghalaya while on honeymoon has also been discovered at the scene of the crime.
Sources claim that Raja suffered multiple machete attacks. During the attack, the victim also made an effort to protect himself.
According to the police, the accused brought a machete close to the Guwahati railway station in Assam. The weapon was found at the Meghalayan crime scene.
Sonam is charged with helping her lover Raj Kushwaha and three other people kill Raja when they were on their honeymoon in Meghalaya. At first, the authorities believed that Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi were hired killers; however, they eventually discovered that they were Raj's friends.
On May 11, Raja and Sonam got married in Indore, and on May 21, they travelled to Meghalaya for their honeymoon. On May 23, they were listed as missing from Sohra , which is in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya. On June 2, Raja's body was found but Sonam was still being searched.
About 1,200 miles from the scene of the crime in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, Sonam was taken into custody a week later. She has admitted to the murder during questioning and named Raj and the other three defendants as partners in the committed crime.
