Tejashwi Yadav’s convoy hit in Vaishali; minister narrowly escaped the accident

New Delhi (India) June 7: Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, almost avoided a major accident when a speeding truck hit his convoy. The accident resulted in seriously injuring three security guards.

Around 1:30 AM on Saturday morning, a truck that had lost its control and collided with a car in the RJD leader's convoy from behind at the Goraul toll plaza on National Highway-22 in the Vaishali district.

Mr. Yadav and party member Shakti Yadav stopped for tea along National Highway 22 when the truck struck two convoy cars.

Tejashwi Yadav said, “We were returning from Madhepura after a programme and we stopped for tea in Vaishali. I saw the truck getting slightly imbalanced in front of me and hit two to three vehicles.”

“My security guards were standing and the truck driver hit them, leaving security personnel injured. The truck was just five feet away and if the truck would have imbalanced earlier then it could have hit us as well.”

He also added, “Strict action should be taken against those who violate traffic rules and endanger lives.”

After suffering injuries, three members of his security team were sent to Sadar Hospital immediately.

All of the injured workers are reportedly in stable condition, however one has a brain injury and is being checked by medical professionals.

After being informed, Sarai Police Station's local officers quickly arrived on the scene and managed the issue. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for interrogation after it was stopped at the Goraul toll plaza.

A number of RJD officials and employees voiced worries about Tejashwi Yadav's security and questioned how effective his security protection was. They have asked for a comprehensive investigation.

The leaders of the opposition expressed support for Tejashwi Yadav and the injured people. They called the incident disturbing and a failure of the state's security system.

The implementation of traffic laws and road safety in Bihar, particularly on national highways, have once again come under attention after this accident.
